Who we are

A small team. Real people. No cutting corners.

Gentle Tide Care is a small, multicultural support team on the Sunshine Coast. We're not a big agency — we're a tight group of experienced adults who take real pride in this work and genuinely care about the people we support.

We keep our team small on purpose. It means you get the same familiar faces, real relationships, and care that doesn't slip through the cracks.

How we help

What we do

Practical, everyday support — at home, out and about, and for families who need a break.

Help at home

Showering, bathing and dressing
Grooming and personal hygiene
Meal preparation and cooking
Light cleaning and laundry
Tidying and home organisation
Light gardening (paths, lawns)
Shopping — with you or on your behalf
Help with everyday tasks around the home

We provide practical, hands-on support. We do not administer medication or provide clinical nursing care.

Out in the community

Getting to appointments
Shops, markets, cafes and errands
Social groups and activities
Sports, recreation and hobbies
Visiting friends and family
Attending events and outings
Trying new activities and experiences
Building confidence and connection

We cover the support worker's time and travel. Entry fees and activity costs are the participant's own.

Respite & palliative support

In-home respite so carers can rest
Companionship and calm presence

Consistent support during serious illness
Daytime and overnight cover
Reliable short-notice availability where possible

We provide compassionate companionship and practical support — not clinical or nursing care.

Our small team includes experienced support workers and a founder with years of hands-on care work. We're a multicultural group with real life experience and a genuine commitment to doing this work well.

Between us we speak English, French, Spanish and Arabic — so if language matters for your participant or family, just ask.

Damien Hennaut

After years of hands-on support work I kept seeing the same pattern: providers grow fast, quality slips, and participants become numbers on a roster. I built Gentle Tide Care to do it differently — keep the team small, keep the quality high, and keep the people at the centre.

We're a multicultural team with real life experience. We've lived, we get it, and we genuinely want to be here. That's not a pitch — that's just who we are.
